Damascus, SANA –School students from the areas in Ghouta in Damascus Countryside which were liberated from terrorism recently have been given a chance to catch up with their studies, as the Education Ministry issued a decision to extend the current school year to ensure that they have sufficient time to complete the curriculum.
According to Director of Damascus Countryside Education Directorate Maher Faraj, students from the liberated areas in Ghouta in grades 1 through 8, 10, and 11 will continue to attend classes until the end of the summer vacation of 2018, and will take their exams afterwards.
Faraj also said that a number of schools have been rehabilitated in the towns of Zamalka, Erbeen, Saqba, and KafrBatna since last month to receive the students of Ghouta, in addition to the opening a school in al-Herjalleh accommodation center.
On a relevant note, Director of Hama Education Directorate Yahya Abdul Ghani Munajed said that the Directorate is working to provide accommodation centers for the displaced students from Raqqa and Idleb provinces, whose number is 11,562 students.
