Putin: We decline all provocations around topic of chemical weapons use in Syria

Moscow, SANA – Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed in a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel inadmissibility of provocations and speculations on the topic of allegedly use of chemical weapons in Syria.

“The leaders exchanged views on the situation in Syria, including in the light of allegations by a number of Western states accusing Damascus of the use of chemical weapons,” the press service of the Kremlin said on Monday.

Kremlin added that Putin made clear the inadmissibility of provocations and speculations on the topic of possible use of chemical weapons on that matter, while Merkel stressed the importance of consolidation of international efforts to normalize the humanitarian situation across entire Syria in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2401.

Some Media outlets which are affiliated to the terrorist organizations launched a propaganda campaign to accuse the Syrian Arab army of using chemical weapons during its military operation against the terrorists in Douma, followed by a Western-led political campaign to justify any hostile moves against Syria aimed at supporting and shielding the terrorist.
