Tehran, SANA- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Bahram Qasemi said that Syria has the right to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, adding that the occupying Zionist regime is fueling tension and conflicts in the region to secure its survival.
In response to the allegations about Iran’s role in escalating the tension with the Zionist entity, Qasemi said that the Zionist entity is the side that is responsible for endangering the security and stability in the region and must be held accountable.
He urged he international community to respond seriously to Israeli aggressions and measures that destabilize the region and lead to further escalation of tension and confrontation.
Last Saturday, the army air defense confronted an Israeli aggression on a number of military positions in the central and southern areas and hit more than one aircraft. Media of the Israeli enemy admitted that the Syrian air defense shot down an F-16 jet over Galilee in occupied Palestine and that its pilots were injured.
