Russia, Kazakhstan discuss preparations for 9th Astana meeting on Syria

Moscow, SANA- Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Russia, Imanghali Tasmaghambetov, discussed with Russia’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Alexey Borodavkin, preparations for the 9th round of Astana meeting on Syria which will be held following the meeting of foreign ministers of Russia, Iran and the Turkish regime next month.

The Kazakh capital, Astana, hosted eight meetings on Syria, the last of which was held on December 21-22. All the meetings stressed the need for maintaining Syria’s unity and sovereignty, continuing fight against terrorism, enhancing cessation of hostilities in the de-escalation zones and emphasizing a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.
