UN concerned about civilians’ situation in Afrin

Geneva, SANA-The United Nations has expressed concern over the situation of civilians and displaced persons from Afrin area in northern Aleppo due to the continuous Turkish aggression on it.

The chairman of the UN task force on humanitarian aid, Jan Egeland, referred to reports that were talking about the fleeing of 15,000 civilians from Afrin due to the Turkish military operation, adding that the UN is deeply concerned about protecting civilians in that area.

For the thirteenth day, the Turkish regime has been committing aggression against Afrin area in northern Aleppo, shelling residential neighborhoods with various types of weapons and killing scores of civilians- mostly children and women- in addition to causing the destruction of homes.
