Power restored to Sweida after outage due to shelling attack

Damascus, SANA – Electric power was restored to Sweida province after an outage hits the entire province as a result of a shelling attack by armed groups on Tishreen/al-Koum power line, a source at Electricity Ministry said.

The source added that the Ministry’s workers switched high voltage lines of 230 kV as an alternative solution till the maintenance teams repair the damaged power line.

Earlier, a 230 kV high-voltage power line which supplies Sweida province with power has been damaged due to an attack with rocket shells by armed groups, causing a power outage in the province as the maintenance teams have started repairs to restore power as soon as possible.
