Damascus, SANA- Head of the Brazilian parliamentary delegation visiting Syria, Arlindo Chinaglia stressed that the visit aims at enhancing parliamentary relations between Syria and Brazil and taking a closer look at the situation in the country.
Chinaglia, member of the Brazilian National Congress for the Workers’ Party, told journalists at Jousiyeh border crossing between Syria and Lebanon on Thursday that the delegation will convey the true image of what is taking place in Syria to the Brazilian people and the public opinion, hoping that the crisis in Syria will end soon.
For his part, Charge d’affaires of the Brazilian Embassy in Damascus, Achilles Zaluar, underlined the deep- rooted relations binding the two friendly countries, reiterating his country’s support to Syria, its territorial integrity and independent decision.
He hoped that the terrorist war on Syria will come to an end and the situation will get better, voicing the Brazilian people’s solidarity with the Syrian people under current circumstances.
Head of the Syrian-Brazilian Friendship Society at the People’s Assembly, Bashar Yaziji noted that the delegation’s visit represents a new step towards further developing and strengthening the Syrian-Brazilian parliamentary relations.
The delegation comprises MPs representing several political parties in Brazil.
