Terrorists move into Afghanistan after being defeated in Syria and Iraq, Portnikov says

Moscow, SANA-Director of the Russian Federal Security Agency, Alexander Portnikov, warned that the international terrorists, who were defeated in Syria and Iraq, started to gather their forces and get out of the Middle East Region, moving mainly into Afghanistan.

“ After acknowledging their military defeat in Syria and Iraq, the international terrorist organizations started to gather their forces and equipment and send money from the Middle East,” Russian Sputnik News Agency quoted Portnikov as saying, during meeting of the council of heads of Commonwealth of Independent States member countries’ security and intelligence agencies in Moscow on Tuesday.

The Russian official pointed out that Afghanistan has become the main center for the gathering of the terrorist groups and criminals where there are military posts for Daesh, warning that the gunmen are able to infiltrate from there into the lands of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

He indicated that the terrorists changed the tactics adopted in launching their terrorist attacks as heads of the international terrorist organizations ordered their agents to carry out what is called “Independent Jihad”.
