3rd stage qualifiers of Syrian Science Olympiad kicks off on Sunday

Damascus, SANA – The Syrian Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad in coordination with the Ministry of Education will launch the final qualifiers of the third phase  finals of the Syrian Science Olympiad on Sunday with the participation of 3016 students of the first secondary grade form various Syrian provinces.

The Head of the Syrian Commission for the Science Olympiad Imad al-Azeb told SANA’s reporter that the two-hour tests will be held in all the provinces at the same time, adding that the top 50 contestants in all subjects will qualify for the finals that will be held in Damascus during the break between the two semesters.

The competitions of the second stage were held last Sunday, with the participation of 23817 students from all provinces.

The final winners in the competitions will take courses to participate in upcoming international Olympiads scheduled in summer, with the mathematics Olympiad in Romania, physics in Portugal, chemistry in Czech, informatics in Japan and biology in Iran.

Syria has earned 18 achievements through participation in international and continental Olympiads, including medals and certificates of appreciation.
