Iranian Industry Minister: Iran will continue its support to Syria

Tehran, SANA – Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari stressed his country’s support to Syria until full restoration of security and stability to the entire Syrian territory.

Shariatmadari made his remarks during a meeting with the Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Dr. Adnan Mahmoud on Sunday.

He underlined Iran’s willingness to take part in rebuilding Syria in accordance with the Syrian government’s plan to activate production, services and developmental sectors, in addition to upgrade economic cooperation to strategic partnerships.

The Iranian Minister called for joining the efforts governmental and private sectors to establish economic projects and benefit from all potentials and capabilities in a way that serves interests of their peoples.

For his part, Ambassador Mahmoud noted that necessary procedures have been taken to reactivate the memo of understanding signed by the two sides on implementing industrial projects, setting up industrial areas, dealing with national currency and organizing joint expos to increase the volume of trade exchange.

He added that the Syrian government is setting up a comprehensive investment map to rehabilitate productive sectors, stressing the Syrian government’s readiness to provide all facilitations for public and private Iranian companies to make investments in Syria.
