Damascus, SANA – The Higher Committee for University Admissions decided on Thursday to accept all students who passed the final exams in all branches of the high school certificate at the Syrian universities and institutions for 2017-2018 academic year.
During a meeting headed by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the Committee stressed the importance of linking scientific research to the society so that the Masters and PhD dissertations develop practical and scientific proposals to solve problems in the society and activate the role of the private sector to train and qualify graduates in universities, in addition to linking the policy of university capacity with the government policy in order to make the inputs of higher education compatible with the requirements of related governmental sectors.
In a press statement, Higher Education Minister Atef al-Naddaf affirmed that the Syrian state provides material requirements and supplies for about 700 thousand students who are studying at Syrian universities, stressing that there is no shortage of funding in any of the requirements of the educational process.
