Health Ministry launches training course for maintenance of medical equipment with WHO and Japan

Damascus, SANA – The Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO), in cooperation with Japan, launched on Sunday a training course for technicians and engineers working in the field of maintenance of medical equipment.

The course is a part of a joint cooperation project with Japan aimed at building the capacity of workers in the field of maintenance of medical equipment in public hospitals in Syria, which will positively reflect on the level of services provided to patients.

The joint cooperation project includes eight training courses for trainers as well as a plan to supply the public hospitals with modern medical equipment worth up to USD 10 million.

The course will last till the 24th of August, and at the end of it participants will have experience in preventive and periodic maintenance, monitoring maintenance contracts and the spare parts provided by agents in terms of cost and quality to avoid any defect.
