Baku, SANA – Hussein al-Masri of the Syrian national boxing team won the gold medal for 49 kg competitions at the 4th tournament of the Islamic Solidarity Games held in the Azeri capital of Baku.
Al-Masri beat his Iraqi counterpart Hassan Nasser in the final match 5-0.
The Syrian mission to the Games comprises 44 members, including 28 athletes who compete in 10 games (swimming, boxing, athletics, gymnastics, wrestling, weightlifting, karate, judo, basketball and special games).
