A national polio vaccination campaign launched in Deir Ezzor city

Deir Ezzor, SANA-Health Directorate in Deir Ezzor launched on Wednesday a national polio vaccination campaign targeting children who are under the age of five.

The campaign came within the National Vaccination Days and will continue till April 27th.

Governor of Deir Ezzor Mohammad Ibrahim Samra said that the Syrian government is keen to provide all services to citizens despite of all the hard circumstances experienced by the city, pointing out that the vaccines are safe and free which were arrived to the city today through the Syrian Arab army helicopters from the city of Qamishli.

Assistant Director of Deir Ezzor Health Directorate Dr. Akram Al-Jouri pointed out that the campaign is targeting 8160 children under the age of five, adding that the vaccines are provided to the city via mobile teams which include 100 volunteers.

He called on the families to bring their children to the health centers or to the nearest mobile team to give them the vaccine regardless of their previous vaccines.
