Mahmoud Ibrahim Khadour; ousted regime member

Aleppo, April 1 (SANA) Syrian internal security forces in Aleppo have arrested a former member of the ousted regime involved in committing violations against civilians, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.

The ministry said Mahmoud Ibrahim Khadour, who previously served in Military Security Branch 290, was later transferred to Hama, where he operated at a checkpoint on the Salamiyah–Hama Road, known locally as the “Potato Checkpoint.”

According to the ministry, the arrest was made following complaints from residents. Investigations found that Khadour had extorted money and personal belongings from civilians and assaulted individuals passing through the checkpoint. Authorities said the case was supported by video evidence documenting the alleged abuses.

Khadour has been referred to the Counter-Terrorism Department for further investigation.

In a separate operation Tuesday, security forces arrested Suleiman Diyoub, known as “Al-Farra,” a former air force lieutenant colonel, in the town of Tal Kalakh in Homs province.
