Aleppo, Jan. 25 (SANA) Search and rescue teams have concluded operations following the collapse of a residential building in Aleppo’s al-Amiriya neighborhood, recovering the body of a 15-year-old boy from beneath the rubble, local authorities said on Sunday.

The Aleppo Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate said response efforts began after the incident occurred on Saturday. The Syrian Civil Defense later confirmed that rescue teams located and recovered the child’s body during operations .

According to the Civil Defense, the body was transferred to a hospital before being referred to forensic authorities, ahead of its formal handover to the family.

The collapse involved part of a three-storey building and initially trapped several workers under the debris. Civil Defense teams carried out intensive rescue efforts and were able to extract all the workers alive.

The incident has once again highlighted the fragile condition of many damaged buildings in Aleppo, where large sections of residential infrastructure remain structurally weak after years of destruction caused by bombardment during the conflict.
