Damascus Countryside, Dec. 4, (SANA) Syrian authorities dismantled a narcotics network in Damascus countryside during a tightly coordinated security operation, arresting two suspects in possession of more than 160,000 Captagon pills.
The Ministry of Interior said the Anti-Narcotics Department carried out the operation following careful surveillance of the suspects. Some of the pills were reportedly hidden inside car batteries, apparently intended for smuggling abroad. The seized drugs were confiscated, and legal procedures were initiated against the detainees.
Earlier this month, authorities in Damascus countryside and the Zabadani area seized 324 kilograms of hashish and nearly 200,000 Captagon pills, following intelligence about suspected criminal activity threatening public security.
The Ministry affirmed that the Anti-Narcotics Department continues to work closely with relevant authorities to combat drug-related crimes and maintain public safety and stability.
