Communications Ministry signs agreement with international Arthur D. Little company

Damascus, SANA- The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology signed Monday a framework agreement with Arthur D. Little (ADL), one of the world’s leading consulting firms, for consulting services in major projects of the ministry.

The agreement aims to enhance cooperation on strategic projects underway by the ministry especially in providing consulting services to evaluate offers submitted for Silk Link and Barq Net infrastructure projects, as well as supporting future cellular network development projects in Syria, the ministry said.

Communications Minister Abdul Salam Haykal, highlighted the importance of attracting the best international expertise to assist in implementing the major national projects the ministry is working on.

He said that this step reflects the new Syria’s openness to the world and its commitment to implementing major national projects according to international standards.

Thomas Kuruvilla, Managing Partner of Arthur D. Little’s Middle East and India as well as a member of Board of Directors, explained that the partnership with the Syrian Ministry of Communications reflects the firm’s confidence in the ambitious vision it is leading.

“We are pleased to launch this partnership with the ministry in its strategic initiatives, which aim not only to meet the immediate needs of Syrian citizens, but also to achieve a long-term impact across the region.” Kuruvilla said,
