Aleppo Directorate of Antiquities receives 1,000 recovered Artifacts

Aleppo, SANA-The Directorate of Antiquities and Museums in Aleppo has received approximately 1,000 diverse artifacts, including pottery, bronze, and glass objects, in addition to stone statues, as part of efforts to combat antiquities smuggling, in cooperation with Aleppo province, the Jarabulus Region Command, and the Ministry of Defense forces.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Munir al-Qasqas, Director of Antiquities and Museums in Aleppo, explained that the recovery of the artifacts represents a major achievement in the process of restoring Syrian heritage, praising the institutional and security cooperation that enabled the protection of these artifacts.

Al-Qusqas emphasized that the return of these artifacts strengthens the national strategy to combat illegal antiquities trafficking, secure historical sites from unauthorized excavation, and preserve Syria’s cultural identity. He called on citizens to immediately report any attempts to smuggle or unlawfully trade in archaeological items.
