Washington, July 12 (SANA) England reached the semifinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway in their quarterfinal at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami early Sunday.

Norway took the lead in the 36th minute through Andreas Schjelderup, but England midfielder Jude Bellingham equalized in first-half stoppage time to send the teams into the break level at 1-1.

The score remained unchanged throughout the second half, forcing the match into extra time. Bellingham struck again in the 92nd minute to seal England’s place in the World Cup semifinals for the fourth time in the nation’s history.

England will face Argentina in the semifinals after the South Americans defeated Switzerland 3-1 later on Sunday.
