Washington, July 6 (SANA) Norway reached the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the first time in their history after defeating Brazil 2-1 in their Round of 16 match at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey late Sunday.
Erling Haaland scored twice in the 80th and 89th minutes to put Norway in control and secure their place in the last eight.
Neymar scored Brazil’s only goal from the penalty spot in the ninth minute of second-half stoppage time.
Norway will face England in the quarter-finals after England defeated Mexico 3-2 later on Monday.
