DR Congo joins Colombia and Portugal in World Cup round of 32
Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo advances past Colombia players during their Group K match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Washington, June 28 (SANA) DR Congo secured a place in the round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after rallying to beat Uzbekistan 3-1 on Sunday, while Colombia and Portugal also advanced from Group K following a goalless draw.

Uzbekistan took the lead through Eldor Shomurodov in the 10th minute before Yoane Wissa equalized from the penalty spot in the 68th minute. Fiston Mayele put DR Congo ahead 10 minutes later, and Wissa sealed the victory with his second goal in stoppage time.

Meanwhile, Colombia and Portugal played out a 0-0 draw at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Colombia created the better chances, but Portugal’s goalkeeper produced several saves to preserve a clean sheet, while the Portuguese side was unable to capitalize on its counterattacks.

Colombia finished top of Group K with seven points, followed by Portugal on five points. DR Congo claimed the third qualifying spot with four points, while Uzbekistan finished bottom of the group without a point.
