Syria participates in Chandi International Conference on Culture, Development and Peace

Jakarta, SANA- The Chandi 2025 International Conference, which is currently being held on the island of Bali in the Republic of Indonesia, was inaugurated with Syria’s participation, along with ministers and cultural experts from various countries around the world.

Minister of Culture Mohammed Yassin Al-Saleh said in a speech during the opening session of the conference: “Culture is not a luxury, but rather the first condition for peace and the key to sustainable development,” stressing that preserving heritage is no longer dependent on stone and paper, but rather has become dependent on our ability to employ modern technology in archiving, protection, and transmission for future generations.

Al-Saleh pointed out that cultural and creative industries have become a driving force for economic growth and an added value to people’s identity, calling for strengthening international cultural dialogue and cooperation as a guarantee for overcoming conflicts and transforming diversity into creative energy.

“Culture can be a compass for peace, the engine of development, and a resource for humanity in facing the future,” the Minister concluded.
