Occupied Jerusalem, May 20 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces carried out a series of raids and arrests across several areas of the West Bank on Wednesday, while tightening military restrictions and closing roads in Palestinian towns and villages.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, around 20 Palestinians were detained in the town of Hizma east of occupied Jerusalem after Israeli forces raided homes and searched properties.
WAFA said Israeli forces closed checkpoints surrounding the town, blocked roads with earth barriers and distributed leaflets warning residents of further measures.
In Ramallah, five Palestinians, including four children, were detained in the village of al-Tira, while another man was arrested in Deir Nizam village northwest of the city following a house raid.
Israeli forces also arrested several Palestinians in Jenin, Qalqilya, Nablus, Bethlehem and Hebron during separate raids targeting homes and neighborhoods across the West Bank.
WAFA reported that Israeli settlers also attacked property in the village of Madama south of Nablus, including damage to electricity infrastructure and water supplies.
Israeli military operations and settler attacks have intensified across the West Bank in recent months amid rising regional tensions and continued violence in the Palestinian territories.
