Istanbul to host international humanitarian summit on Gaza

Istanbul will host an international humanitarian aid summit for Gaza on November 11-12, aimed at addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region. The summit will bring together over 400 participants from 48 countries, representing more than 200 organizations.

The summit’s primary objective is to explore long-term solutions to the humanitarian emergency that has plagued Gaza for over two years. Discussions will focus on addressing the widespread destruction of infrastructure and the urgent needs in sectors such as healthcare, education, housing, and other critical areas.

Key figures at the event will include local and international officials, civil society representatives, human rights advocates, as well as academics and journalists. The summit will also feature five workshops, where experts will delve into sustainable, comprehensive approaches to humanitarian aid.

This initiative follows a ceasefire agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025, following a brutal two-year Israeli military campaign that has resulted in the deaths of over 69,000 Palestinians and left more than 170,000 others injured. Despite the ceasefire, ongoing Israeli violations and restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian aid continue to pose significant challenges for Gaza.
