Manama, May 13 (SANA) Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani discussed rising regional tensions on Wednesday, including Iranian attacks against Gulf states and growing concerns over maritime security in the Gulf.
According to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the two ministers discussed efforts to safeguard shipping routes in the region and the implications of disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz for global energy markets, supply chains and the wider international economy.
The talks also covered coordination between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain on issues under discussion at the United Nations Security Council, BNA said.
The discussions come amid heightened tensions in the Gulf following a series of regional escalations that have increased concerns over the security of energy supplies and international trade routes linked to the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil transit corridors.
