Mecca, March 12 (SANA) The Muslim World League on Wednesday welcomed a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Iran’s attacks on Gulf states and Jordan and calling for an immediate and unconditional halt to any threats or provocations against neighboring countries.
In a statement, the organization said the broad support for the resolution sends “a clear message rejecting Iran’s attacks, which are based on flimsy justifications and aimed at spreading chaos and expanding conflict.”
The League warned that such actions threaten regional security and pose a serious risk to international peace.
It also reaffirmed its support for the countries targeted by the attacks and urged Security Council members to uphold their responsibility to maintain international peace and security.
The organization called on Iran to fully comply with its obligations under international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
Earlier, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2817, condemning Iran’s missile and drone attacks on Gulf states and Jordan and describing them as violations of international law and threats to regional and global stability.
