U.S. extends Lebanon–Israel ceasefire by three weeks after White House talks
U.S. President Donald Trump

Washington, April 24 (SANA) U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel has been extended for three additional weeks following talks at the White House.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said the meeting included Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as well as U.S. ambassadors to Lebanon and Israel and representatives from both sides. He described the discussions as “historic” and said they had progressed positively.

Trump added that Washington would work with Lebanon to help strengthen its ability to defend itself against Hezbollah.

He also expressed hope of hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Washington in the near future to follow up on this file.

The announcement follows a previous statement by Trump on April 16, when he said a 10-day ceasefire agreement had been reached between Lebanon and Israel.
