Abu Dhabi, March 28 (SANA) Five people were injured after a fire broke out near Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) caused by debris from a ballistic missile intercepted by UAE air defenses, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office.
In a statement posted on X on Saturday, the office said the injured Indian nationals sustained moderate to minor wounds after fragments of the intercepted missile fell in the area.
The office urged the public is advised to obtain information only from official sources and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified information.
Earlier, the UAE Ministry of Defense said its air defense systems and fighter jets had intercepted ballistic missiles and drones launched from Iran, adding that the sounds heard across different areas were the result of successful interceptions.
