Jordan partially closes airspace

Amman, March 2 (SANA) Jordan announced Monday a partial daily closure of its airspace for arriving, departing and overflying aircraft until further notice, citing regional escalation and a risk assessment conducted under international standards.

Al-Mamlaka TV reported that Dhaifallah al-Farajat, chairman of the Jordan Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, said the closure will be implemented daily from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m., starting tonight.

The measure aims to ensure the safety and security of civil aviation within Jordanian airspace, the official said.

The Commission urged passengers to contact their airlines to confirm flight schedules and monitor any changes.

Syria, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Jordan have announced partial airspace closures amid rising regional tensions.
The closures follow strikes by the United States and Israel inside Iran. Iran has since launched missiles and drones at Israel and targeted several Arab countries, resulting in casualties and infrastructure damage.
