Damascus, Feb. 12 (SANA) Qatari Ambassador to Syria Khalifa Abdullah Al Mahmoud visited the Heart Surgery and National University hospitals in Damascus on Thursday, where he met members of the Qatari medical delegation participating in the “Endless Giving” campaign to conduct 100 cardiac catheterization procedures for adults and children.

The ambassador praised the efforts of Qatari doctors performing specialized procedures and affirmed the continuation of such initiatives, stressing Qatar’s readiness to support Syria’s health sector and expand future cooperation, including training programs for Syrian medical staff.

Director General of the hospital, Dr. Abdul Ghani Al-Shalabi, lauded Qatar’s support for Syria’s health sector, whether through medical campaigns, the provision of medicines, or surgical procedures, noting that such contributions have enhanced healthcare services and eased the burden on citizens.

According to campaign organizers, around 30 catheterizations for adults and 32 pediatric interventions have been completed so far, with the total expected to reach 100 procedures by the campaign’s conclusion on Friday.
