Damascus, Sept. 2 (SANA) Around 50 Saudi companies are participating in the 63rd Damascus International Fair, highlighting growing economic engagement between Syria and Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Embassy’s chargé d’affaires in Damascus said Wednesday.
Abdullah al-Haris told SANA that Saudi companies participating in the fair represent a range of sectors, including agriculture, industry and food manufacturing.
The Saudi participation also included the signing of memoranda between Syria’s Ministry of Agriculture and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, al-Haris said.
He described the agreements as a first step toward broader agricultural investment cooperation between the two countries.
Around 1,000 entities and companies from 60 countries are participating in this year’s Damascus International Fair, which runs through Sept. 4.
The event has drawn growing international interest in the Syrian market, providing a platform for investment and economic partnerships linked to the country’s reconstruction and economic recovery.
