Damascus, SANA – Water Resources Minister Nabil al-Hassan said that the pumping of water from al-Figeh spring to Damascus city reservoirs has begun in preparation for pumping it to homes.

Hassan told the Syrian TV on Sunday evening that maintenance teams have begun pumping water into Damascus city’s reservoirs after only ten hours of commencing repairs in al-Figeh spring, adding that the teams have been working since Sunday morning to repair the damage caused by terrorists who inflicted as much damage as possible to the spring and its facilities such as structures, control mechanisms, power systems, mechanical systems, and so on.

The Minister said that samples are being taken from the water pumped from the spring for analysis, and after the results come out the pumping will begin to homes gradually.
