Damascus, SANA- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hadiyeh Abbas affirmed on Wednesday the importance of developing parliamentary relations between Iran and Syria and enhancing them to serve the interests of the two peoples and the common issues between them.
Abbas met an Iranian delegation, headed by Special Assistant to the Speaker of Shura Council, Hussein Amir Abdullahian.
Abbas thanked and appreciated the Iranian stances towards Syrian people and leadership in the political, parliamentary and economic fields, especially during the crisis and the terrorist war waged on the country, affirming that the Syrians will not forget the Iranian support to them.
She pointed out that the Russian-Iranian-Syrian cooperation and coordination with the Lebanese resistance has made great achievements in the face of terrorism which poses a major threat not only for Syria, but for the region and the entire world.
Abbas received an invitation from the Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council Ali Larijani to participate in the international conference to support Palestinian people’s Intifada to be held in Tehran next month.
In turn, Abdullahian said that Iran stands by Syria, reiterating his country’s full readiness to provide all help and assistance to the Syrian people in their ordeal.
He went on saying that Iran has confidence in the awareness and wisdom of the Syrian political leadership as the current political experience has shown that the Syrian state with all institutions, led by President Bashar al-Assad, can’t miss the compass and it is doing political, field and international work in the best possible manner.
