Tehran, SANA – Senior Advisor to the Iranian Parliament Speaker Hussein Amir Abdullahian stressed that “the Astana conference initiative is considerable but the yesterday terrorists shouldn’t turn into today politicians in any political settlement in Syria.”
Amir Abdullahian made his remarks during a meeting with Syrian Ambassador in Tehran Adnan Mahmoud.
He said that the Astana negotiations are a proper opportunity to take the necessary political benefits of the Syrian people’s resistance against the Takfiri terrorism.
Abdullahian reiterated Iran’s support for Syria’s territorial integrity and independence, adding that “Iran considers national talks and paying attention to the voice of the Syrian people as the most appropriate solution to resolve the problems in Syria politically.”
He highlighted the good results of the continued political and parliamentary meetings between Syrian and Iranian officials and coordination between the two sides in combating terrorism.
For his part, Ambassador Mahmoud highly appreciated Iran’s support to the Syrian people and their steadfastness in the face of terrorism, adding that Astana talks stress the idea of intra-Syrian dialogue without any foreign intervention.
