Lavrov: The opposition delegation to Astana talks will include those who signed cessation of hostilities agreement

Moscow, SANA-Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that the representatives of the Syrian government and the opposition, which signed the cessation of hostilities agreement during the last December, will be invited to the Astana talks on January 23.

In a press conference with his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz on Wednesday, Lavrov said that opposition will be presented by those who signed the cessation of hostilities agreement, adding that Russian welcomed any armed faction that is not connected with ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations to join to the agreement signed on December29 and Russia calls on all factions to join.

“Frankly, the form of the extended invitations allows the participation of all those who have been mentioned in public statements, including representatives of the US,” Lavrov said.
