Damascus Countryside, SANA – A convoy carrying humanitarian aid provided by several UN bodies operating in Syria arrived in al-Moaddamiyeh town in Damascus countryside on Saturday.
Rana Zaqout of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) of the UN said the convoy included 32 trucks loaded with food and medical supplies, in addition to self-teaching books, winter clothes and blankets.
She noted that the aid targets around 40,000 people inside al-Moaddamiyeh, adding that the aid shipment includes 8,000 food packages.
Head of al-Moaddamiyeh Municipality Bassam Karbouj pointed out that more than 1500 families have returned to their homes in al-Moaddamiyeh after the local reconciliation was achieved in the town last November.
