Monday weather forecast: Temperatures to rise, yet still below average

Damascus, SANA- The temperatures will slightly rise, yet they will remain below average as the country is affected by a low air pressure in all layers of the atmosphere accompanied by a cold and wet air mass.

The Meteorology Department expected in its Monday bulletin that the skies will be partly cloudy in general and rain showers will fall over different areas and the rains will be heavy and accompanied by thunder sometimes, particularly in the northern and coastal areas while snow will fall over the mountains.

The wind will be southwesterly with a low to moderate speed and the sea waves will be medium in height.

Tomorrow, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy and rainy and heavy rains accompanied by thunder sometimes will fall over different areas while snow will fall over the mountains whose height is over 1,000 meters.

Over the past 24 hours, different amounts of rainfalls were registered in the Syrian provinces as follows: 61 mm in Lattakia, 15 mm in Damascus, 5 mm in Sweida, 4.5 mm in Daraa, 42 mm in Quneitra, 23 mm in Homs, 32 mm in Hama, 35 mm in Tartous, 36 mm in Lattakia, 2 mm in Aleppo and 16.9 mm in Hasaka.

The expected temperatures in some of the major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 10/4, Daraa 11/5, Homs 11/2, Lattakia 15/9, Aleppo 8/2, and Deir Ezzor 11/4.
