Monday weather forecast: Temperatures to rise, yet still below average

Damascus, SANA – The temperatures will slightly rise, yet they will remain from 5 to 7 degrees below average as the country is affected by a superficial high air pressure accompanied by a low air pressure in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

The Meteorology Department expected in its Monday bulletin that the skies will be clear to partly cloudy in general and that local rain showers might fall over the southern, southeastern and al-Jazeera areas.

At night, the weather will be cold and frost and fog are expected in most areas while the wind will be changeable with a low speed and the sea waves will be low in height.

Tomorrow, the skies will be clear to partly cloudy and the temperatures will continue to rise, yet they will remain from 4 to 6 degrees below average.

Over the past 24 hours, different amounts of rainfalls were registered in a number of the Syrian provinces as follows: 19 mm in Hasaka, 7 mm in Damascus Countryside, 17,5 mm in Sweida, 8 mm in Daraa, 6 mm in Quneitra 7 mm in Homs 8,8 mm in Hama and 10 mm in Hasaka.

The expected temperatures in some of the major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 7/1, Daraa 8/1, Homs 5/1, Lattakia 10/4, Aleppo 6/2 and Deir Ezzor 11/5.
