Ankara, SANA – The lawyers of writer and SANA’s correspondent in Turkey Hosni Mahali, who was arrested by the Turkish regime, petitioned the Turkish Attorney General to return him to the hospital to receive proper care.
Turan Aydogan, one of Mahali’s lawyers, said that the writer was hospitalized during his arrest due to the deterioration of his health, and he spent one night there, and although the doctors insisted that he should remain there, he went to the court to make his statement.
Mahali, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, was referred to court after he was arrested by the Turkish regime’s authorities under the pretext of “offending senior Turkish officials” in Tweets, something which the writer had denied.
Aydogan affirmed that Mahali cannot stay in prison because he needs medical care, or else he might suffer paralysis.
SANA tried to contact Mahali repeatedly but all attempts failed.
