Provinces, SANA – Army units thwarted Thursday an attack by ISIS terrorist groups on military posts in Palmyra area.
A military source said that the army units clashed with ISIS terrorist groups attacked a number of military posts in the vicinity of Palmyra, Gazel and al-Shaer oil fields, Zamleh, al-Katibeh al-Mahjoura (desolated brigade)and al-Bardeh village to the southwestern of Homs Province.
The source added that the clash resulted in killing and injuring a number of terrorists and destroying 4 booby-trapped vehicles and 4 SUVs equipped with machineguns.
Army units targeted a gathering of terrorists from the so-called “Ahrar al-Sham” in al-Ghanto village in Talbisa area in the northern countryside of Homs, according to SANA reporter.
The reporter added that about 20 terrorists were killed or injured in the operation and that a mortar and two SUV cars were destroyed.
He pointed that the terrorists: Tariq al-Ahdab, Mohammad Abdul-Rahman Lola, Tahir al-Asmar, Hassan al-Hassan and Seif Eddin al-Omar were among dead.
Aleppo
Units of army, in cooperation with the backing forces, continued their advance in Eastern Aleppo and established control on a number of buildings and farms in al-Sheikh Said region.
Daraa
An army unit targeted gatherings of terrorists on the northern and western outskirts of al-Nazihin Camp in Daraa al-Balad area in the southern Daraa province, killing a number of them, according to the military source.
The source added that a number of terrorists’ fortifications were destroyed in al-Bajabja neighborhood, in addition to destroying a fortified monitoring position to the south of Khazan al-Kark in Daraa al-Balad.
