Red Crescent starts distributing WFP-provided aid to ISIS-besieged families in Deir Ezzor city

Deir Ezzor, SANA – The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) branch in Deir Ezzor province started on Tuesday distributing food aid to ISIS-besieged families in Deir Ezzor city.

Head of the SARC branch Anas Ashawi told SANA reporter that the aid will cover 19,000 families in the city of Deir Ezzor, adding that portions of 16 kg each containing sugar, bulgur, lentils and salt will be distributed to the beneficiaries.

He noted that the aid was provided by the World Food Program (WFP).

The city of Deir Ezzor has been under a crippling siege by ISIS terrorist organization for several years now, with ISIS terrorists blocking access to food and health materials. The Syrian and Russian air forces are providing these substances by dropping them via parachutes.
