Social Affairs Minister: Preparations made to house displaced Syrians returning from Ersal

Damascus, SANA – Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Kinda al-Shammat asserted that all the necessary steps and facilitations have been taken to ensure the safe return of displaced Syrian families from the Lebanese town of Ersal to Syria via Jdaidet Yabour border crossing point.

In a statement to SANA, al-Shammat said that the Ministry is cooperating with Damascus Countryside Governorate to provide buses to transport the families in question who consist of around 2,000 people to fully-equipped temporary housing centers.

For his part, Syria’s Ambassador in Lebanon Ali Abdul-Karim said that the Syrian government has addressed the issue of displaced Syrians who fled to al-Masna’a area on the Syrian-Lebanese borders following the events in Ersal and found suitable housing centers for them in Syria.

He also thanked the Lebanese authorities for their cooperation in addressing this matter.
