Moscow, SANA – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and President-elect Donald Trump spoke over the phone Monday and discussed means to settle the crisis in Syria with stress laid on the need to unify efforts against terrorism.
The Kremlin said Putin and Trump agreed on the need to unify efforts in the fight against their number one enemy — “international terrorism and extremism” — and discussed the settlement of the crisis in Syrian in that context.
Putin congratulated Trump over his victory, expressing Russia’s readiness to “establish a partner-like dialogue with the new administration on the basis of equality, mutual respect and non-interference in domestic relations,” according to the Kremlin.
