Homs Governor, UN Resident Coordinator in Syria discuss enhancing efforts to restore normal life to Homs

Homs, SANA- Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi discussed on Monday with Ali al-Zaatari, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Syria and his accompanying delegation means to continue the governmental and UN efforts aiming at restoring the normal life to all the areas in Homs.

During the meeting, al-Barazi affirmed Homs governorate’s readiness to offer all forms of support and cooperation to complete the remaining scheduled phases to announce al-Waer neighborhood free of weapons and gunmen in preparation for getting normal life and governmental establishments back to it.

He pointed out to the importance of resuming development, social and cultural programs carried out by UN organizations, in cooperation with the Syrian government and the local community in order to restore normal life to the social, economic and cultural sectors in the province.

Later, al-Barazi, the UN official and his accompanying delegation visited the city of Homs and they were briefed on the rehabilitation works being carried out in cooperation between Homs Governorate and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
