Homs, SANA – The Local Administration and Environment Minister Hussein Makhlouf and Minister Nizar Yazigi of Health inspected a number of services, traffic and healthcare projects in Homs province.
The projects included the rehabilitation of the main roads in the neighborhoods of Wadi al-Dahab, Bab al-Dreib, Karm al-Zaytoun and al-Zahraa and the expansion of al-Zahraa and Karm al-Louz hospitals in order to meet citizens’ health and medical needs.
The ministers also visited Martyrs Cemetery in al-Arman neighborhood, and al-Qaysariyeh market and inspected the rehabilitation of shops in the Old Souq/ Market Place in Homs, a part of the project launched by Homs Governorate and the UNDP project to revive the economic and social life in Homs Old City which consists of 4600 stores and shops.
Minister Makhlouf stressed the government’s unremitting efforts to restore natural life to Homs province through encouraging local reconciliations and rehabilitation projects to upgrade services projects and improve citizens’ living conditions.
In a statement to journalists, Minister Yazigi said that the ministry’s plan to expand al-Zahraa Hospital aims at providing better health care and medical services to all citizens, noting to the great damage caused to health sector and the destruction of hospitals due to terrorist groups’ attacks.
