Provinces, SANA- The Army and Armed Forces on Friday continued targeting terrorist organizations across the country, eliminating many terrorists and establishing control over several areas in Aleppo and Damascus Countryside.
Aleppo
Army units, in cooperation with the supporting forces, re-established control over al-Maqlaa, Kassarat al-Oweje, Qows al-Oweje in Aleppo, a military source said.
The source added that the engineering units combed the areas and dismantled explosive devices and mines planted by the terrorists before they were killed.
It stressed that more than 42 terrorists were killed and 30 others were injured in al-Sheikh Saeed, al-Fardous and the 1070 Apartment Project in Aleppo.
Later, a military source said that an army unit established control over the Agricultural School, al-Majbal, al-Rawafe’a block, the hangars, factories, quarries, and sawmills northeast of Aleppo city, eliminating many terrorists in the process.
Damascus Countryside
A military source announced establishing control over al-Dirkhabiyeh town in the southwest of Damascus Countryside after inflicting heavy losses in ranks and equipment upon terrorist organizations.
The source said that army units carried out a military operation using varied kinds of weapons and tactics that commensurate with the nature of the Western Ghouta area, establishing full control over al-Dirkhabiyeh town.
The source added that the operation resulted in killing a large number of terrorists and destroying their weaponry and equipment while the rest of them fled away towards the neighboring towns of Khan al-Sheeh and Zakia.
The source pointed out that the military engineering units later combed the area and dismantled a number of explosive devices and landmines which terrorists had earlier planted in the area to prevent the army’s advance.
Homs
An army unit killed at least 12 Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in al-Saan al-Aswad area, some 15 km north of Homs city, including a leader within the organization who is named Mustafa Mohammad al-Omari, according to SANA reporter.
11 members of al-Omari’s group were also killed. Those included Mohammad Mousa al-Najjar, Naif Ashour, Taleb Soufan, Zaher Mohammad Salloum, Ayman Abu Ibrahim, malek al-Hourani and Abdul-Qader Abbas.
The reporter noted that two SUVs were destroyed in the operation.
Daraa
Army and Armed Forces units destroyed artillery positions and damaged several machinegun-equipped vehicles used by terrorist organizations in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa city, leaving many terrorists dead or injured.
A military source told SANA that this came as a result of precise targeting if terrorists’ gatherings and fortified positions in al-Nazihin Camp, al-Abbasiye neighborhood, and southwest of the four-way crossing in al-Sad neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad area.
Later, the source said that an army unit destroyed a bulldozer used by terrorists northeast of al-Sultan Mosque in Daraa al-Mahata area in the city, killing a number of terrorists in the process.
