Moscow, SANA-Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova affirmed on Thursday that Washington’s statements about its inclination to suspend cooperation with Moscow regarding Syria were inappropriate and don’t suit the diplomatic principles or human values, expressing regret that the Americans didn’t refute these statements.
Zakharova, at a press conference, considered the statements of US Department of State’s spokesman John Kirby as “impudent”, stressing that the US statements against Russia are unacceptable that came due to Washington’s failure to meet its obligations of the agreement on Syria or separating between what it names “moderate opposition” and terrorists.
She called on the US to inform Moscow about any potential terrorist threats against Russian cities if there were any information about that.
Zakharova added that the “armed groups” use civilians as human shields in Aleppo and shell the residential neighborhoods daily as well as they prevent the civilians from getting out of the besieged areas, affirming that this case is applied on the situation in Damascus and Lattakia countryside.
Kirby announced on Wednesday that US Secretary of State John Kerry threatened, during a telephone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, to suspend cooperation with Moscow on the crisis in Syria if Moscow doesn’t put an end to what he depicted as “shelling in Aleppo.”
