Abdollahian: USA has not taken and will not take any single step to save the region from terrorism

Tehran, SANA – Iran’s Shura Council Assistant Speaker for international affairs Hussein Amir Abdollahian said that “a review of US government actions and words clearly proves the country has not taken and will not take any single step to save people from the clutches of terrorists in the region and Syria.”

Abdollahian’s remarks came in response to the latest statements made by the US Secretary of State John Kerry on moving the last batch of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) members from Iraq to Europe.

In a statement to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Abdollahian added that the “White House tries to establish a ceasefire in Aleppo to secure terrorists under siege by the Syrian army.”

“While the safety and honor of the Muslim people of Syria and Iraq is completely disregarded by the United States, John Kerry speaks proudly of securing MKO terrorists,” he noted.

Abdollahian said the inhabitants of the Kefraya and al?Fouaa towns in Syria in recent months are besieged by terrorists and suffer grave humanitarian crisis, including total power blackout and the acute shortage of drinking water, medicine and food; however, the US does not pay any attention to the catastrophe and crimes against humanity, and worse, the United Nations is not capable to act and lift the siege imposed on them.

Kefraya and al-Fouaa towns, which are located in the northern countryside of Idleb province, have been under a stifling siege imposed by the terrorist organizations for over two years, not to mention the hundred rocket and mortar shells fired by terrorists and caused the death of dozens of their people and the destruction of infrastructure.
