7 new breaches of cessation of hostilities agreement observed

Lattakia, SANA – The number of breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement by the terrorist groups in Syria reached 1056 since the agreement came into force on February 27th.

The Hmeimim-based Russian center monitoring the agreement said Tuesday that 6 new breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement were committed by the so-called Jaish al-Islam terrorists, as they targeted with mortar shells a number of towns in Damascus countryside, while another breach took place as a terrorist group shelled a village in Lattakia countryside.

The center added in a statement that the number of towns that have become part of the cessation of hostilities agreement reached 449, after a town in Homs province has joined the agreement, while the number of armed groups which showed commitment to the agreement remains 69.

The center pointed out that the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists continue their attempts to sabotage the agreement in Syria as they shelled with rocket and mortar rounds a number of areas in Aleppo, including the 1070, al-Ansari, al-Castello neighborhoods, the southern farms and the gas factory.

It added that terrorists also targeted the towns of Harasta, Douma, Erbin, al-Bahariyeh, Daraya, Hawsh al-Fara and Hteitet al-Jarash in Damascus countryside and Izraa area in Daraa province and Tal Salhab in Hama province.

The cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria is not applicable to ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra and other groupsinternationally designated as terrorist organizations.
